i've been abusing my poor wallet a little too much lately... and i've tried to be a good girl and give it much needed rest. christmas is coming and i need to think of others, even though my favorite person (insert: me) is most deserving ;)

anyways. i would like to thank all the canadian shops that are offering me so many good deals to prevent us from going south of the border...

i would also like to curse you for testing my weak will power via e-mail deals...

on a similar note... i heard a customer used pepper spray at Wal-Mart in the US in a shopping frenzy. whoa?

so, a while back... i was at the grand opening of the new Topshop @ The Bay and there was a live band playing. as i shopped (leopardbooties.leopardbooties.leopardbooties.LEOPARDBOOTIES!), i listened to the group and found myself really liking them. by the time i was done, so were they... i guess i missed out. but as my luck would have it, i ended up on the escalator with them and they were lost (ha ha!) and i directed them to the exit, in exchange for the name of the band. Friendly Fires.

i think i'm late to the party on this one, but better late than never!

christmas is coming *wallet dies* so i'm gonna put this out there...

nails inc. nail polish "Crystal Colour" special edition bottles... it's basically their regular nail polish with special crystal caps. they change colours from season to season, varying on trends. i specifically want it in Porchester Square... a soft dove grey. sure, i could get the regular bottle and save $10, but... it's not as pretty!

the bachelorette...

michelle's engagement/wedding has been a year long adventure...

we'll start with the bachelorette party thrown by the most wonderful bridesmaids EVER (ahem, that includes me ;)

everyone met at the bride's house for a little gathering... Halloween themed, of course. there was a wide range of costumes, butterflies, witches, a greek goddess, little red riding hood, FBI agents, a beer wench (my costume... the irony is that i don't even like beer!) and a rag doll (the bride).

the usual party stuff happened while we waited for our surprise "ride"... drinks, snacks, various squeals and jokes... we had a gift session, which lets face it, was really gifts for the groom. i'm pretty sure she'll never have to buy sexy underwear again...

then our pink party bus (stripper pole and karaoke included!) came to pick us up... and i'll let the pictures tell the rest!!!

i'm excited to finally get my hands on a bottle of Nails Inc magnetic nail polish... the whole line is supposed to show up at sephora some day... but these are what i'll have to settle with until then.

more specifically, i got Trafalgar Square, a metallic silver/chrome colour... i wouldn't have minded getting Big Ben which was gold (sold out), but i'll pass on Houses of Parliament purple (yup, sold out too). not too into dark/vampy purples anyways.

this was from an original music series called UNSTAGED, earlier this year... this was my fav of the bunch. i was gonna upload the Come Undone one too... until i watched it and saw that David Lynch inserted hot dogs on a grill into the film, the ENTIRE track... ummm... i mean, artistic interpretation is one thing and ridiculousness is another.

i've had a lot of KD in my life... and never get sick of it. everywhere i go, i try to eat mac & cheese... but i've had a few bland ones recently that have worried me...

...all that changed when jen and i tried out the cheddar and bacon mac & cheese at Sweet Lorraine's Mac & Cheez! Kitchen in the Great Lakes Crossing Outlet. words cannot describe how yummy it was! just look at the picture... so much cheese... so much bacon... and the macaroni wasn't of the run-of-the-mill elbow variety... it was spiral/rotini pasta! it somehow made it even better.

who knew a food court could provide me with something so awesome???

the only drawback? i'd have to go back to Michigan to get it :( sigh.

dd weekend...

i know i've been lazy w updating, but did you really think i'd forget to update about my duran duran weekend?

the road trip w jen (my road dog!) was good... we listened to 190 dd songs on shuffle to prepare for the concert... and i drank a million red bulls and ate the best chocolate bar ever (mint 3 Musketeers!!)

we got to Windsor in the early evening and decided to go to Caesar's Palace casino early to engage in some buffet action... but the line up was 103294804958309485 people deep, so we settled on Nathan's hot dogs (that didn't settle quite right?! :S)

the main reason for the trip:





awesome concert, as per usual. simon was in rare form... my highlights:

i know it's still september, but it's already time for me to start thinking of a Halloween costume.
last year's was pretty good... the year before was even better. i think it was diy the metallic jeweled nails. those things were amazing. they got caught in my wig a lot tho...

any help with this year is much appreciated!

i'll be selling my babies at the 5th annual Manifesto Festival on Sept 25th 2011, in their Freshest Goods market. i'm nervous about people liking/buying them... but excited to be a part of the Manifesto family. it's an 11 day festival with a ton of things to see and do... after you decide how many pairs you want from me, make sure to check out some of the 13 events around the city and 100 + artists who will be preforming ;)

lipstick!

i have a little (understatement) obsession with make up.

not counting the stuff i keep in the bathroom for my everyday applications, everything is kept in my room in a 3ft storage container with shelves. it is packed to the brim and all divided up by different types of make up... eye products, face stuff, lips... in fact, i have 2 different shelves for lip products. lip gloss and.... lipstick.

on a rare saturday without plans, i cracked into the lipstick shelf to do some organizing/downsizing. i never realized how many lipsticks i had... do i really need 26 shades of pink?? (answer = yes)

i really was gonna try to throw out shades i don't wear anymore, but i couldn't bring myself to do it. so i just kinda stacked them neatly and slid the shelf shut.

my #1 fav shade... MAC Lacquer in Wanderlust. it's perfect... liquid lipstick, so much colour. i have 3 tubes because it's discontinued and i tried to stockpile it, via eBay.
