Mappy!

i introduced the office to the wonders of Mappy. its basically a game with a mouse (dressed like a police officer) jumping on trampolines in a mansion, collecting stolen goods while little cats chase him. yeah, ok i didn't invent the damn game, so don't ask me... ha.

Bryce was particularly bad at it until he took it home for the weekend and decided to crack the code of high scores... and show me up at the office.

he racked up an impressive 76,870. i only got to 42,900. i'm not bitter though. i even helped him out by writing his name at the top of the score chart :)

Long (lazy) weekend!

so what did you do on your May 2-4 weekend? (i hate that it's called that and doesn't actually always fall on the 24th. or is it something to do with a 2-4 of beer? either way, i hate it. and i hate beer too. so there)

wanna know what i did? see below for a my POV:

yeah, i laid in bed and watched tv... for 99% of the weekend (the other 1% spent having a nice lunch/suit shopping adventure downtown, thanks Mr). geez talk about a waste of time and gray matter for the rest.

anyhoo. some key details about the picture...

-i was watching Family Guy. i used to hate that show (yeah, i know) but now i find myself watching it all the time. i think it's more for the reason that it is CONSTANTLY on and i just gave in

-my Fafi dolls are around the tv and on my stereo. the big ones keep falling and breaking though. they've both lost their lollipops and popsicles. tragic.

-my Hello Kitty socks. i had to run to the store when julie showed them to me! so cute. i swear my feet are happier in them. or at least more "asian school girl" :P

-i don't know if you can see it, but my Dreamcast is there. all i play is ancient games. Tetris... and i am a master at anything Mario (except Mario Kart, i don't like that one. i know, blasphemy). don't challenge me. i've been playing an old Tiny Toons game constantly too. oh oh... and Bubble Bobble. i love those little dragons

-i don't even want to get into how much junk food i eat when i am left to my own devices.

-my million year old bedspread. yes, there are geese on it. i hate geese. they are vicious! mostly the Canadian ones. i don't ever mess around with them. EVER. i saw one in the Square One parking lot once and walked the other way. seriously.

- the large rubbermaid containers. the one to the left is full of bikinis, scarves and socks. exciting! the one on the right is full of make up. top to bottom, all 5 layers. 1st layer - lipstick, 2nd - lipgloss, 3rd - blush/face products, 4th - eyeshadow, 5th - quads, multi purpose items. yeah i'm a hoarder

so... that is a semi tour of my room. forget the closet and underwear drawers. that would take too long.

A Blast From the Past...

i'm not much of a new age gamer... but i loooove the old ones. today i decided to hook up my old system and give it a go...

my fav games?

-anything Mario (in particular, Mario Bros 2 + 3 and Super Mario World)
-Street Fighter (with the new players and YES i knew how to do all the moves, not just press all the buttons... sorry to call some of the ladies out!)
-Bubble Bobble
-Tetris

the first game i played today was Tetris... i was a little rusty at first (i didn't have long, manicured nails as a kid, go figure), but as you'll notice by the screenshot... i got right back into the groove. i'm very particular about the way i play this game... if i can't win by getting ALL Tetris' (thats 4 lines in a row, for those that are not familiar)... i wanna start over.

don't sweat the perfect technique!! (don't mind all the pantyhose and Fafi stuff lying around the tv... cleaning my room wasn't high on my list of priorities today)

Bubble Bobble... not to toot my own horn, but i kick ass at this game. i never get bored of it and i know everything about it! i think it's the first video game i ever played (thx to my cousin Mark) and playing it again brought back so many memories...

random:

i usually always play it alone (only child) but if i ever play with someone, i insist on being player 2 (the blue + pink dragon!).

on level 9, make sure to blow lots of bubbles before you kill all the bad guys... because once you pop the last one, all the leftover bubbles turn into carrots (true!)

level 28 is my fav level

i think i like this game so much because the players are cute and cuddly baby dragons who spit bubbles... and when you kill the enemies, they turn into fruits, cakes and candies ;)
